Ups and downs of Milwaukee

Milwaukee has been a mix of ups and downs. The highlight, beyond any doubt, has been seeing Rachel after two months apart. We had a fabulous time and now that she's left, I'm motivated to pedal that much harder to get home sooner. The chance to see a few of my good friends here in Milwaukee has made this choice of itinerary worthwhile, too.

Unfortunately, the highs of seeing Rach and a few friends have been offset by the low of GENCO's retraction of their prior offer to let me stop by Capital's offices. They are not letting me visit, so I'd like to apologize to all my friends at Capital that I've been unable to see. You are in my thoughts and I wish you all the very best. Stay in touch and take care of yourselves.

I find it hard to believe. It seems to me that you were right to leave Genco.

Genco must be having serious problems. It seems it would be for the best that you don't stop by - it might be sad for you to see.

It just seems so petty.

Rob,

I would be pissed too if they didnt let me come to meet my ex-colleagues. It is not like you are coming to get postal on the new CEO dude or steal company secrets. Come on Genco give him a break you losers! Just goes to show the culture at Genco.

GENCO's decision to not allow me into the facility is somewhat understandable, and I don't blame them for their choice. They don't know me well enough to know that I certainly wouldn't do anything to the detriment of the company. (I've invested too much of my life into Capital to undermine its success or the happiness of my friends.)

I am simply disappointed that after going out of my way, weeks in advance, to get permission to say hello to my friends, that they waited until the morning of my scheduled visit to withdraw the invitation. As a result, with only a few hours notice, I was unable to see many good friends of many years. If they had told me that I was not welcome in the facility earlier, I could have arranged to see friends outside of the office. The way it was handled, I didn't have that opportunity.

It's just unfortunate.
