Happy Halloween
This year the gates of Bayberry were guarded by our own one-headed, tail-wagging Cerberus. In an example of a good idea gone bad, we got Lily a pail that she could use to distribute candy to trick-or-treaters. Being a rather flimsy plastic, the pail was promptly impailed by Lily's powerful bite. Having been demoted from candy transport to mere greeter, Lily's enthusiastic 75 lbs of joy provoked tears from a frightened young Cinderella. Lily promptly was retired from any further Halloween services. In the end, we all settled down to a quiet evening, Rachel and I reading in the library with Lily at our feet. Life is good.
